I love my weighted blanket. I was skeptical at first wondering how a weighted blanket would be a stress reliever and give you a good night's sleep, but it does. Keep an open mind because at first it is a different feel but, now as bedtime nears, all I start thinking about is getting under that blanket! I like it so much I am buying four more as gifts for my sons and daughters-in-law. The downside of the blanket is that you don't want to get out of bed.
Talk about pampered fur babies. . .
The owner of these lucky pups ordered lap quilts so her dogs could receive the same benefits as she herself has had from using a weighted blanket.

As an individual with a nervous system disorder, I use my weighted blanket as a tool to feel more balanced and grounded in my restorative yoga practice, to promote relaxation during a reflexology treatment, and to recover from daily stressors that can cause my immune system to weaken.
I understood the profound effects the weighted blanket had on my own health and wellness, so I began to use one of Jan’s weighted lap pads as a blanket for my dogs. Rufus, our purebred Boxer, is deaf and suffers from separation anxiety, so he would act out as a puppy when frustrated. We tried using a Thunder Shirt, but he was just irritated further by it. However, using the weighted blanket on him would provide him with that sense of comfort he was seeking. Zuzu, our teddy bear dog, is very flexible, so when we started hiking she would get a little limp in her hind leg the next day. I started to teach myself doggy massage, and then I would support her legs, very much like we would do in a restorative yoga pose, and then lay the weighted blanket over her. She would be walking normally again the next day.
Both continue to enjoy lying under the blankets and will usually fall sound asleep not long after it’s been put on them. We often use it while I’m practicing yoga in the evening, so they get to relax and restore right alongside me!
As a person who is afflicted with Parkinson's Disease and its many neurological symptoms, I look for as many modalities that I can discover. I learned through the many restorative yoga classes and workshops just how important it is to address the nervous system and how it enhances my overall health.
One of the Parkinson's symptoms I have is insomnia. Normally I feel fortunate to get an average of four hours a night! I was fortunate enough to experience the weighted blanket in several of the restorative yoga workshops and now I have and use one on a regular basis. In the 2 years + that I have slept with the weighted blanket, I experienced the following improvements:
